CARLISLE, PA – Sports and outdoor enthusiasts will converge on central Pennsylvania during the weekend of September 6-8, 2013 for the all-new Carlisle Sports and Outdoor Nationals. The event, taking place at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, hosts family fun, displays, industry guests, interactive exhibits, demonstrations and more. Best of all, the weekend caters to all branches of the sports and outdoor lifestyle. In doing so, Carlisle Events is pleased to welcome the National Wild Turkey Federation onsite for their archery shoots and competitions. In addition, the Cabela’s store in Hamburg will be sponsoring the shoot and will provide approximately $5,000 in prizes for competitors. Cabela’s and Carlisle Sports are POWA supporting members.
Along with the NWTF, Real Scent will also present additional competitions. The club hosts a fun shoot, while the NWTF anchors onsite competitions. As part of the set- up, there will be 3D targets with the 3D shoot presented by NWTF. Rinehart targets will be set up at various distances on the course. Additionally, a more challenging option exists for those who are part of the competition, as they will be prohibited from using a range finder. With distance and breeze a factor, that will make the battles that much more intense. Participation in the archery competition and fun shoot has an additional fee associated. As part of the entry costs, prizes will be available via Cabela’s for those participating in the 3D shoot. Additional prizes will be available for those participating in the fun shoot. All registrations must take place onsite during event weekend.
With Cabela’s on board as a partner, they’ll also be onsite as a vendor. Attendees can meet with representatives from Cabela’s and check out their brand new Regulator Bow by Bowtech. Not only will guests be able to ask questions about the bow, but they can test shoot it too for a real feel of this awesome new product from Cabela’s.
“Cabela’s is proud to have partnered with Bowtech to create the new Regulator Bow”, said Harold Luther, Cabela’s Marketing Manager. “The smooth-shooting and whisper quiet bow is only 32” axle-to-axle, has an IBO rating of 325 fps and the poundage is adjustable from 50-70 lbs.!” “The adaptability of the bow’s length and poundage adjustment make it the perfect bow for every situation, whether you are in a tight spot in a treestand, on the target range or if you need to lower the poundage later in the hunting season when the temperature begins to drop.”
“The NWTF has embarked on its new Save the Habitat, Save the Hunt initiative, which aims to create 1.5 million new hunters, conserve or enhance 4 million acres of wildlife habitat and open access to 500,000 acres for public hunting,” said Chris Piltz, NWTF Special Events Coordinator. “Bringing our archery competition to the Carlisle Sports and Outdoor Nationals will help achieve these goals as we work to create the next generation of hunters and conservationists.”
Further, the NWTF will be offering multiple interactive kids activities. These additional programs are designed to foster the growth of the hobby, increase interest with the future of the sport and in general, provide something fun for young enthusiasts to participate in.
